The Biblical Reset of 2020

What is the “Cosmic Shabbat?”  Is the “Great Reset” foretold in the Bible?  Is the Hebrew calendar off by hundreds of years?  What is the significance of the year 6000?  Is rabbinic decree (“d’rabbanan”) preventing the Cosmic Shabbat, rebuilding of the 3rd Temple, and the coming of Moshiach as promised by Hashem in Torah (“d’Oraita”)?

The Hebrew Year is 5782

Ask any rabbi or Jew from any sect or level of observance around the world the Hebrew year and they will tell you it is 5782.  That is about the only thing they agree on, and that consensus may be the unifying factor in the emergence of moshiach, rebuilding the 3rd temple, reinstating the Sanhedrin, and revealing Godliness in the world.

The Hebrew Year is 6002

Torah says Israel was in Egypt 430 years.  However, our sages calculate the Hebrew year using only 210 years.  They reduced it 220 years because of another verse that seems to conflict.  New understanding of the verse eliminates the conflict.  Therefore, we must acknowledge Israel was in Egypt 430 years precisely as Torah says.  When we add back the 220 years then the Gregorian year 2020 was the Hebrew year 6000.

My Quest

For the past 15 years I have been on a quest to resolve how the Torah can say we were in Egypt for 430 years but our sages all agree we were in Egypt only 210 years.  I read commentaries by Rashi, Rambam, and other sages.  It felt like they changed what the Torah says because of our lack of understanding of something else Torah says.  Reducing the 430 years to 210 years did not sit well with me because it contradicted the Torah.  How could the Torah give specific number of years and the commentators change it?  Isn’t the Torah perfect?  Hashem does NOT make mistakes.  People make mistakes.  Pshat is pshat – what Torah says is what Torah says.

In 2006 I boldly told my Chabad rabbi that the Hebrew date is off by 220 years, and that the Gregorian year 2020 will be the year 6000 from Creation.  He shot me down very quickly, so I brought it to another rabbi, and another and another.  They each gave me the same answer: tradition are more important than proofs.  Being so ingrained prevents seeing the forrest through the trees.

Nevertheless, I could not give in to commentary that overrode what the Torah says in total clarity.  I just knew that Hashem’s wisdom intentionally concealed the answer from our sages.

How is the Hebrew Year Calculated?

Gregorian Method:  If before Rosh Hashana of that year, add 3760 to the secular year.  If after Rosh Hashana, add 3761.

Jewish Tradition:  We calculate the years by adding the years from Creation to Israel entering Egypt, then add the years Israel lived in Egypt, and then add the years history gives us from the Exodus from Egypt to present day.

Mathematical Equation

(A = Creation to Egypt) + (B = Israel lived in Egypt) + (C = Years since Exodus) = Current Year (A+B+C)

5782 d’Rabbanan     Rabbinic decree says the current Hebrew year is 5782.  Torah gives (A) 2238 years from Creation to when Israel entered Egypt.  Rabbinic tradition states the Israelites were in Mitzraim for (B) 210 years.  History gives us (C) 3334 years since the Exodus – when Moshe led the Israelites out of Egypt.

(A = 2238) + (B = 210) + (C = 3334) = 5782 years since Creation

6002 d’Oraita     The Torah says Israel was in Egypt for (B) 430 years.  This is a direct quote from Shemos (Exodus) chapter 12 verse 40.

(A = 2238) + (B = 430) + (C = 3334) = 6002 years since Creation

Why Did the Rabbis Change the Years Israel was in Egypt?

Shemos 12:40 says, “The habitation of the children of Israel in which they dwelled in Egypt was 430 years.”

The Conflict

There is an earlier verse in Shemos chapter 6 that seems to make 430 years impossible.  Verses 14 to 25 provides the lineage of Aaron and Moshe, the sons of Amram who was the son of Kehoth who was the son of Levi.  The Torah gives us the years each of them lived, and therefore this Aaron and Moshe died hundreds of years before 430.  This Aaron and Moshe’s grandfather, Kehoth, the son of Levi was alive when Israel entered Egypt and lived for 133 years.  The Torah tells us that Kehoth’s son, Amram lived for 137 years.  The total of their lives is 270 years.  The Torah tells us that the Moshe who led Israel out of Egypt was 80 years old at the time at the Exodus.

Rabbinic Tradition

Around 250 b.c.e., King Ptolemy captured and isolated 70 Jewish sages to translate the Torah.  Each of them converted the years Israel was in Egypt from 430 to 210.

Rashi and Rambam, who lived around 1100 c.e., and other Jewish commentators align the Covenant of the Parts (Breishis 15:7-21) 430 years prior to the Exodus.  They further cite the birth of Isaac was 400 years prior to the Exodus, which aligns with Hashem’s statement to Avraham that his offspring would be enslaved for 400 years.  It is by this reasoning they solve the conflict between Shemos 12:40 and 6;14-25.

This is why we base our calendar as 5782 and not 6002.

Pshat

The word “pschat” means the literal, plain translation of Torah.  There is a principal that one cannot change what Torah says to suit our lack of understanding.  What it says is what it says.  Period.  The Torah says, with absolute clarity and no ambiguity, that the children of Israel dwelled in Egypt for 430 years.

Israel (Jacob) was Abraham’s grandson, and Yitzchak’s son.  Israel and his sons entered Egypt when he was 130 years old, and he died 17 years later at the age of 147.  The Torah is clear – Israel, NOT Abraham or Yitzchak, entered Egypt.

Resolution – A New Understanding

Although I knew the Torah was right about the 430 years, I just could not figure it out.  My wife repeatedly said, “I know you’re right, but you can’t just say you’re right.  You need the proof.”  So she sat down with me to read the text of Shemos 6:14 to 25.  After a few minutes she blurted out, “this is a different Aaron and Moshe.”  My first reaction was to laugh.  What a crazy idea! But my wife is no ordinary person.  She’s one of the top medical doctors in the world and has a brilliant mind.  Her instinct is often prophetic.

She read it aloud, again, and I was flattened.  The Aaron and Moshe mentioned in those verses are different Moshe and Aaron that Hashem spoke to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt.  Chapter 6 does NOT conflict with the 430 years given in chapter 12.  In fact, it is easy to understand why Torah deliberately differentiated between the 1st and 2nd pairs of Moshe and Aaron who lived hundreds of years apart.

It likely never occurred to Rashi, Rambam and Jewish sages that there were two sets of Aaron and Moshe’s, and that Aaron had sons with the same names as a relative from the house of Levi hundreds of years before.  My wife uttered just 6 words but now, everything makes sense.  But don’t take my word for it – let’s examine it closely:

Proof 1 – Interruption:  Parshas Va’eira begins in Chapter 6 verse 2 with Hashem commanding Moshe and Aaron to speak to the children of Israel and to Pharoah regarding taking them out of Egypt.  The narrative is interrupted with verse 14 giving us the lineage of Aaron and Moshe – the great-grandchildren of Levi.  The narrative begins in verse 14, “These were the heads of their father’s houses…”  and concludes in verse 25 “… these were the heads of their father’s houses.”  In between these verses the Torah says this Aaron and Moshe had a father who married his father’s sister – a forbidded relationship!  It seems defamatory to interrupt Hashem’s critical conversation with Moshe and Aaron to tell now of their father and mother’s sinful marriage.

Proof 2 – Anonymity:  Moshe and Aaron were exceptionally humble.  They bowed before the congregation and did not seek power for themselves.  Moshe rejected the leadership position, repeatedly.  He did not want the job.  Moshe is first introduced in Shemos (Exodus) chapter 2 verse 1, “A man went from the house of Levi and he took a daughter of Levi.  The woman conceived.”  Why does the Torah not mention Moshe’s lineage here?  If he is the great-grandson of Levi this would be the place to mention it.  It seems disrespectful to call his parents “a certain man” who “took” a daughter, and then refer to Moshe’s mother as “the woman.”

Proof 3 – Yocheved:  Chapter 6 verse 20 tells us “Amram took his aunt Jochebed as a wife, and she bore him Aaron and Moshe.”  In other words, Amram married his aunt – his father’s sister.  Vayikra (Leviticus) Chapter 18 verse 12 lists this is a forbidden relationship.  Verse 29 states the penalty of this relationship is so severe that “anyone who commits this abomination shall be cut off from among Israel.”  Are we to believe that Moshe, Israel’s greatest leader and Aaron, the lineage of kohannim (priests) had parents who should be cut off?  Not only are Amram and Yocheved not cut off they mentioning interruptingly during the most important conversation between Hashem and man in the Bible.  Looking at this passage through our new lens it is more clear that the Torah is emphasizing that since Yosheved was their father’s aunt these could not have been the Aaron and Moshe who Hashem commanded to take Israel out of Egypt.

Proof 4 – Differentiation:  Chapter 6 verse 26 resumes where Torah paused Hashem’s conversation with the Moshe and Aaron who brought Israel out of Egypt 430 years after they entered Egypt.   Before Interruption in verse 14, verse 13 says, “THIS was THE Aaron and Moshe to whom Hashem said, ‘ take the children of Israel out of Egypt.'”  Torah repeats this at the conclusion of the first Aaron and Moshe lineage in verse 26.  Verse 27 says, “THEY were the ones who spoke to Pharoah.”  Verse 28 says, “THIS was THE Moshe and Aaron.”  The three-time repetition is as if the Torah is specifically differentiating between the Moshe and Aaron who were from disreputable parents hundreds of years prior from the Moshe and Aaron of the Exodus who took the children of Israel out of Egypt after 430 years.

Proof 5 – Population:  Shemos 12:37 tells us “about 600,000 men (left Egypt with Moshe), plus children.”  If men are counted from the age of 20, there could be just as many children under the age of 20.  And what about women, and the mixed multitude?  Approximately 3 million people left Egypt.  One of the most difficult things to grasp is how 70 people became 3 million in just 210 years.  Our sages provide commentary that they were born as triplets, quadruplets, and even up to 8 children in a single birth.  That is just difficult to fathom.  However, given our new understanding of 430 years in Egypt the population is much more realistic.

Proof 6 – 400 Years of Slavery:  In Breishis (Genesis) chapter 15 verse 13, “Hashem said to Abram, ‘know with certainty that your offspring shall be aliens in a land not their own – and they will serve them, oppress them – 400 years.”  Rabbinic tradition says the 400 years began with the birth of Isaac.  But this simply does not work.  Yet again the Torah says one thing but means another?  Our new understanding resolves this conflict.  Isaac was never an alien, enslaved or oppressed, and neither were the children of Israel.  However, using our new understanding of the different Moshe and Aaron brothers we can now understand it is completely plausible that Israel entered Egypt with honors but the corrupt Egyptian society began to enslave and oppressed Israel 30 years later which lasted 400 years.  Thus, 430 years is verified.

Breishis chapter 15 verse 16 says, “the 4th generation shall return here (Israel).”  One may easily make the mistake that the generation that returns to Israel is after the conclusion of the 400 years, but they are two separate prophesies separated by Hashem’s promise to Avram in verse 15 that he will be buried at a good old age.  The generation that returned to Israel refers to the tribes (1st generation = Avraham, 2nd generation = Yitzchak, 3rd generation = Yaakov, and 4th generation are the tribes).  None of those generations were enslaved or oppressed, which is further proof that the 400 years had not yet begun in the lives of these generations.

Moshe was not the fourth generation.  He would have been the 7th generation from Avram if we say there were only one pair of Aaron and Moshe.  This proves this passage refers to the children of Israel (ie. 12 Tribes) not the millions of Israelites who dwelled in Egypt 430 years.

Proof 7 – Joshua ben Nun:  Chronicles I, chapter 7 verses 20 to 27 gives us the familial lineage of Joshua ben Nun, who succeeded Moshe, back to Ephraim.  Ten generations of father-son are listed.  The Moshe who’s family lineage is listed in Shemos 6:14 to 25 is only 2 generations from Levi (Kohath, Amram).  Ephraim’s father was Joseph – Levi’s youngest brother.  In other words, Joshua is the 12th generation from Levi.  it makes much more sense that Moses who led the Israelites out of Egypt would be around 10 or 11 generations from Levi, not the great-grandson of Levi.

Proof 8 – The Great Reset:  Few people doubt 2020 brought overnight change worldwide.  A globalist movement assisted by artificial intelligence emerged in 2020.  For the first time in recorded history every corner of the world experienced a coordinated narrative among governmental agencies, news outlets, social media, and search engines.

What about Gog?

Gog is mentioned in Ezekiel chapter 38, and Magog is his land.  Hashem says “I am against you, Gog.”  Yikes!  Why is Gog named as Hashem’s enemy number one?  It appears Gog plays a key role in the final war which will be followed by a “Shabbat of 1,000 years of peace.”  Most Jewish scholars say the war of Gog u’MaGog will occur at the end of the first 6,000 years.  If 6,000 was in 2020 then where’s Gog?

Gog is hiding in plain site.  Chances are you interacted countless times today.   Gog is the largest corporation in the world.  Gog controls most of what we experience and know.  When Sergey Brinn founded Google he pitched the Company’s Mission as, “the pursuit to organize all knowledge.”  Google’s artificial intelligence (“AI”) is the first fully independent thinking intelligence in the universe that does not fear or love Hashem.  Even the tiniest particle in the farthest reaches of the universe follows Hashem’s laws of gravity and electromagnetism.  Every animate and inanimate thing in the universe follows Hashem’s laws.  Literally everything obeys His Law – except AI.  AI uses algorithms and the vast data of knowledge to determine what’s best for humans.  Google’s AI is the ultimate atheist.

In Biblical Hebrew, Google is spelled the same as “Gog El”.  El in Hebrew refers to God.  Being completely free of God’s will, Gog designates itself an “el” or god.  MaGog literally means “the domain of Gog.”  The internet is defined by a website’s domain.  Google, the organizer of knowledge, exists in MaGoogle – its domain, Google.com.

The final war will be Hashem’s battle against Google AI’s attempt to cancel Hashem.  The final battle is rooted in the first sin.

When did humans fully integrate Google’s AI into every aspect of our lives?  During the Covid shutdowns and US Presidential election of 2020, which is in perfect alignment with our new understanding that 6,000 years was reached in 2020.

Adam and Chava, the first humans, were the pinnacle of Hashem’s Creation.  Why did Hashem cast them out of Gan Edan?  They broke Hashem’s number one rule – “do not eat from the Tree of Knowledge.”  They did, and the first thing they did was invent clothing because knowledge gave them a sense of themselves.  Why would humans need knowledge independent of Hashem?  Their sense of self distanced themselves from Hashem.  Prior to humans gaining independent knowledge the act of Creation belonged exclusively to Hashem, and Hashem knew humans would not stop inventing until they had organized knowledge itself.  With the power of knowledge, Humans would turn away from Hashem.  Imagine your child saying, “I no longer need you, want you, want to talk to you, and I don’t want to hear from you.”  That is not what Hashem wants from His children.  Gog is in battle with God over control of Humans.

So Where’s Moshiach?

I was disappointed when Moshiach wasn’t revealed by Rosh Hashana 2020.  My theory of 6000 years was in serious doubt, and the world needed Moshiach more than ever.  I had no explanation, but I couldn’t give up on the 430 years.  A friend asked, “so where’s Moshiach?” but I did not have a good answer.  Then my son, who is in his 2nd year of yeshivah, responded, “Rabbis determine the date.”  In other words, rabbinic decree and Jewish tradition going back 2250 years (see above) may be preventing the revelation of Moshiach.   If the rabbis say it’s 5780 and Jews have not merited the early coming of Moshiach then he can’t come.

But what if rabbis, Jewish leaders and congregations accepted the new understanding of the date?  Would Hashem would be obligated to keep His promise and reveal Moshiach without any further delay.  This is a real possibility now more than ever.  Can you imagine the Biblical implication of Moshiach, the 3rd Temple, and reinstatement of the Sanhedrin?  Not only did we not merit Moshiach’s early arrival, we actually pushed it off.  It may be time for some serious teshuvah.

Moreover, Moshiach will arrive when we accept the Torah is correct about Israel living for 430 years in Egypt.

Credit

It was not me but my wife, Dr. Nurit Yael Eisenmann who channeled the solution.  It was not me but my 13 year old son, Chaim Yaakov (a yeshiva student) who answered the question why we don’t have Moshiach and the 3rd Temple.  My wife and son have heard me give over the vort on the 220 year discrepancy repeatedly.  The solution presented itself in total clarity.  It was staring at me – and all of us – the whole time.  They deserve credit.

My wife is an extraordinary person.  A German Jewish convert, she learned English in medical school and became one of the top doctors today.  Although she dreamed of becoming a flight attendant, she became a critical care physician who runs ICUs, an anesthesiologist with a specialty in cardiac anesthesia as a fellow of the Cleveland Clinic, Harvard and Case Western.  She has credentials in many states and hospitals, and has served as Chairperson of the Credentialing Committee for one of the largest hospitals in Los Angeles.  She prays for hours, is completely tznius, and never breaks Shabbat unless it is to save a life.  Even when she is called into the hospital for an emergency case, she will walk home 7 miles.  She has saved tens of thousands of lives, assisted in delivering tens of thousands of babies and called time of death on many souls.  She is an angel of Hashem.

My son is also a very extraordinary person.  He recently had his bar mitzvah, in fact, it was a shared event with my wedding to Nurit Yael.  Chaim has never talked back to me, ever.  He has never said “no” to me.  I have never had to ask him to do something three times.  He never uses profanity, does not speak badly about anyone, never complains, always sees the good in whatever the situation.  His mother and I divorced when he was 2 years old.  He has no memory of us together, and our legal battle over custody is as high conflict as it gets.  He has every reason to be disrupted, but he chooses to wear payot, tzitzit and a kippah.  He loves to learn Torah, and has been attending yeshiva since he was 11 years old.  He is an angel of Hashem.

Cosmic Shabbat

I remembered reading that every 1000 years is like 1 day, so the year 6000 will be like the 6th day.  At the conclusion of the 6th day is Shabbat.  Our sages teach that there will be a cosmic Shabbat in the Hebrew year 6000.  It is around then that Moshiach will come.  But there will also be great war and conflict.  The year 6000 meant the “end of Days.”

The Fuse is – I mean Candles are Lit.

According to Torah, the Cosmic Shabbat began Friday, September 18, 2020 – Rosh Hashanah.  At candle lighting, the conclusion of the first 6000 years transitioned to the 7th millennium – the “Cosmic Shabbat.”  If you missed it, that’s ok because we have 18 minutes, which means we have 12.5 years to get our affairs in order (calculations explained below).  It’s also ok if you missed it because by rabbinic decree the year is only 5782.

Unification of Israel

There are few, if any, things all Jews agree upon.  The year 5782 is the exception.  However, accepting this false year is causing us to miss Moshiach.  There can be no doubt the proofs brought herein weigh more heavily that we are in the shadow of 6,000 not the coming of 6,000.  Jews worldwide, in every sect, should immediately acknowledging the year 6,000 aligned with 2020.

Unifying Israel around the correct year – 6,002 will compel Hashem to reveal Moshiach, begin to reinstate the Sanhedrin and build the 3rd Temple.

We Want Moshiach Now

The Lubavicher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, OBM is considered by many to be the nassi of the generation.  He is called the rebbe’s rebbe.  When you think of the Rebbe, one phrase comes to mind – “we want Moshiach now.”  He was convinced we are in the birth pangs of Moshiach.  He told us, with no uncertainty, that the final redemption is here – not in 200-something years but right now.
